Useful Resources

Since starting this project i’ve already spent at least a gazillion hours on the internet searching out information on renovating victorian houses, researching the best way of doing things, finding the best products and suppliers etc.. In doing so, the Bookmarks on our home PC (well Macbook actually) have become like gold dust to us.

So in the spirit of sharing, and using the wonders of the social bookmarking site, here’s everything we’ve found so far. Hopefully it’ll save you some hours of trawling.

Just click on a ‘tag’ for what you’re looking for and it’ll take you to a list of all relevant gems:

If you have discovered any gems yourself then please submit them using the Comments box at the bottom of this page and we’ll add them to this page.

If you’d like to get involved in a project to gather a whole host of similar, good quality renovation links, then please let me know and we can get something fancy set-up on

Hi There

I wonder if you can add a link to us from your site. We restore the exteriors of buildings, particularly historic and listed buildings. We clean stone, and restore paintwork / gutters etc. If there is anything you would like you to do to be able to gain a link, please get in touch.

Thanks a lot

Hi Chris I thought you might be interested in our online shop where we sell products for people renovating period properties along with supporting historical articles. Please let me know what you think and whether we could be mentioned on your site. Kind regards

Hi Chris,
We updated our website nearly a year ago,and have just discovered that your hyperlink to our site directs users to a page that doesn’t exist. Can our links point to and NOT

Many thanks, Emma
